MoneyGrabber - Fitz & the Tantrums.

If you’d drop me into any musical era, I’d pick Detroit during Motown. The horns, the tambourines, the bass lines, the call-and-response vocals—for me, it all works. Fitz & the Tantrums are a band that would fit right in.

A friend told me this story about seeing them in concert this year: During the buildup to the last chorus in MoneyGrabber, she said Fitz got everyone real, real low on the dancefloor and both the band and the crowd jumped up and went ballistic when the chorus finally hit. My friend couldn’t stop smiling just telling me about it. Any band that’ll do that for you is worth listening to.
